Dr. Brandon Bates

Brandon Bates, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist licensed in Texas. He and his wife, Kerri, moved to Graham in 2006 to raise their children and be part of a community they both believe in. A native of Graham, Dr. Bates is excited to give back to the town that gave so much to him. He graduated from Tarleton State University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree and earned his Doctorate of Psychology from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in 2002.

Dr. Bates has served on several boards of directors in Graham and currently acts as a trustee for the Graham ISD. He also enjoys coaching youth sports and is an active member of Cornerstone Methodist Church. In addition, he has developed a passion for mission work. Following the 2009 hurricane, he traveled to Haiti to provide trauma assistance and has also supported the American Red Cross with trauma services after tornadoes in Oklahoma. He regularly participates in mission work at Big Heart Orphanage in Mexico.

Outside of work and family life, Dr. Bates is an avid outdoorsman—often joking about lobbying to hold “therapy sessions” in a deer stand. On a more serious note, he is deeply committed to his work. Those who meet with him quickly recognize his passion for helping others. Dr. Bates works with a variety of individuals from a cognitive-behavioral perspective to foster more rational thinking patterns, improve coping skills, and reduce symptoms. He provides individual and family therapy, as well as comprehensive psychological evaluations to assist with differential diagnoses, treatment planning, and answering specific referral questions.

Dr. Kerri Bates

Dr. Kerri Bates is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides therapy as well as consultation with primary care providers as she has a specialty in health psychology. She has been in private practice since 2002. Through the years she has honed and developed her skills combining the science of psychology along with the art of therapy. Her goal is to provide a non-judgmental, respectful, and compassionate environment where individuals can feel comfortable sharing their struggles along with their successes. Dr. Bates has also recently joined the clinical research team at Grayline Research Center in Wichita Falls, which is a phase III clinical trial research center.

Dr. Bates graduated from Tarleton State University in 1998 with a BA in Psychology, then received her Masters and Doctorate from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in 2002. She completed a 12-month internship in Porterville, California, and a 12-month residency in South Texas.

Dr. Bates stays busy balancing her passion for her work, being a wife to fellow Psychologist, Brandon, and raising their two sons. She also believes in carving out some self-time for yoga and working outside on her flowers. Dr. Bates can treat a variety of disorders, work with individuals navigating life’s challenges, and assist individuals in creating their “best life.” She considers it a privilege when a client allows her to walk alongside them on life’s journey. She wants to empower individuals to gain new understanding and envision and create a new future.

“Just as despair can come to one only from other human beings, hope, too, can be given to one only by other human beings.

~ Elie Wiesel
